Ecommerce’s Hottest Trend: New Media Rich Email Campaign Software
Posted by: | CommentsPeople often inquire when they see me about what is the new and most profitable trend in ecommerce and I respond without hesitation “video content”. So I am excited to see more new technology emerge that can place video right into retail email, and seeing businesses experimenting with it. Anna Yeaman reports one retailer boasting a 20-27% click through rate without linking to video, and 51-65% with links to video. And Forrester Research reports video in email can increase click through by 2-3X.
As Mr. Brownlow explains in his state-of-play update on video in retail email, early use of video in email was really linking text to a video hosted on the Web. Now we see this all changing to a more filter friendly format.
Some retailers like REI and Sears got clever and converted video to animated gifs. REI uses Liveclicker, but Anna Yeaman has a DIY tutorial on how to convert video to animated gif.
What is so hard about placing a video in email?
Deliverability is the issue. Large video attachments are often spotted by filters and marked as spam and ISPs (Internet service providers) block large data including Javascript for security reasons.
Javascript sending video in an e-mail has been blocked by many ISP’s and is a challenge for deliverability, since large video attachments often alert spam filters. The way that the NewF5 system gets around this issue is that their e-mail maitains the highest “white listing” available for an email provider and is a paid service that does not go through typical e-mail filters.
How to beat the email spam filters.
This month, the NewF5 email marketing program launched for individual and small business owners and have in place a spam compliance policy that insure the deliverability stays the highest possible in the mass email business. This high deliverability includes there newsletter and auto responder campaign systems too.
The NewF5 autoresponder software locks down the bit of code that calls the video server, allowing actual video code to live in the email rather than just a placeholder. Many small businesses are already claiming very positive results.[youtube:y9pvxrs8c7E;NewF5 Testimonials;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9pvxrs8c7E&feature=related]
Google recently announced it would support Youtube links in email for Gmail accounts. Its not an embed, rather Gmail recognizes Youtube code and displays the video in the email ” provided that the Gmail user has enabled the feature through Google Labs. Its unlikely the average Gmail user is going to turn this on ” so dont get too excited. Of course using gmail or any other free system defeats the purpose of email marketing which is automating the tracking and converting of your valuable leads.
Other Features That distinguish the NewF5 Email Campaign Software from a Free web mail are:
1. Video and audio creation, playlists, picture galleries, media storage and media publishing;
2. Full email client with video, audio, and template integration for individual follow up
3. Mobile sync
4. Lead capture
5. Auto-responder
6. Customized template creation
7. Email delivery reporting and statistics.
My personal experience with the NewF5 Email Campaign Software has been above expectations. Using this system I have built 3 businesses in 5 countries from the comfort of my home office. The New F5 system is what I believe to be a must have tool for any business competing in there local and national markets.

The way to use PPC Advertising to grow your business
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the growing forms of advertising that small business are using online today is PPC, or pay-per-click advertising. When researched and performed correctly, PPC advertising is another way to add to your web site SEO and your ability as an online business to show up prominently in search engine results. As a form of website SEO, PPC advertising can be a great way to generate highly targeted prospects which can provide a great source of revenue to you and your company.
The first thing to discuss is what PPC actually is. PPC is when you advertise on the sides of a search page. You only pay when somebody clicks on your ad. You are in control of the words and phrases that you want people to type in to find you. When somebody is looking for you by using those keywords, you will probably show up as a sponsored link.
How is it determined how much you will pay per click? You will bid against all of the other advertisers for that keyword; the bid that’s the highest get the top spot. Clicks could range from 10 cents all the way to over 20 dollars. The price depends on how much competition, what the industry is, and what the topic is. This process can be very costly if you don’t grasp all of the intricacies of PPC; so it’s important to do the proper research.
But,as you learn to use it, PPC is great for web site SEO because you will get a great position on the SERP, or search engine result pages; this is something that other SEO companies can’t provide. You can spend day after day on website SEO, but who knows if it will work? If you learn how to work with PPC, however, you are sure that your future customers will see your website.
The greatest part of PPC for a small business is that it only costs you when somebody clicks on your ad. This will guarantee not spending money on people looking at your site that doesn’t want your product or sevice. The important thing is that you need to get as many people to vist your website, and only pay a price when people come to visit.
A great way to watch your spending on your web site SEO and PPC campaigns is to use the built-in feature known as your daily limit. If you don’t use this, you are in danger of spending way more money than you want to! This feature will stop your ads from running when you reach your daily budget. This will help you keep your costs down while growing your business
PPC is the new way to go to build your business on the web. Most companies today are utilizing PPC on top of classic website SEO. You should take the time and learn how PPC works. If you do, your business will continue to grow by leaps and bounds!

Tell Me About Web Spiders
Posted by: | CommentsWhen we’re talking about spiders and the Internet, we mean the spiders that search engines use to crawl the Net for content. Every search engine known to man uses these spiders to index web pages into a database and calculate page rankings based on algorithms. This isn’t something you need to have an in-depth knowledge of or even understand past the fact that they exist, search for content, find it, use it and it gets ranked.
Most people once they get the idea of spiders are happy to realize that if they use them the right way, they may change their website ranking. To understand a bit of how these spiders work, you need to know that they are robots. The information spiders are able to read is very specific.
If you want a real disaster on your hands, have Javascript or image text on your website and stand back and watch as the spiders are unable to read it. In fact, that type of coding can’t be read by spiders. If you want to know what a spider sees, then you have to be able to adjust your website once you know.
How would I go about seeing what a spider sees? Finding out is very easy by locating software that simulates what a spider sees. If content is being missed, use the “alt” tag with image descriptions.
Yes, you can use “alt” tags for links and Flash descriptions as well. Don’t over do optimizing your website or it will just look terrible and read very poorly. The simulator tells you if your links point to the proper places.
Be wary about link exchanges, as they have been known to hand out fake links using script spiders can’t read. If a link isn’t in the right place, the simulator won’t show the link so you know it’s not functional.
It isn’t true that you need a whole lot of link backs to your site in order to be able to rank well on the search engine listings. If you have too many links, you get errors like “403 Forbidden” and “404 Page Not Found.” Too many links with errors will mean a spider can’t view the website. Remember that spiders only will show a link that is pointed in the right direction, so if a link doesn’t show then it is not working.
Selling On eBay – How To Make Feedback Work To Your Advantage
Posted by: | CommentsYou’ve probably heard the success stories about those who have made it big on eBay. Maybe you’ve wondered if it could really be true. Well, the truth is that it is possible, and more than that, it can really happen for you too. You just need to know how to sell on eBay properly. How do you learn? Well the good news is it’s not that hard to learn how to sell on eBay. But there’s a big difference between learning how to sell on eBay to make a little bit of spending money and selling on eBay to make a living. Regardless of why you want to sell on eBay, one of the most important things to concentrate on when you start is customer service.
If you have poor customer service on eBay, your odds of being a success are little to none. This is because eBay has a well-established rating system. This rating system allows buyers to rate the people they have bought from on different key factors. Examples of these key factors are communication, shipping time, and whether the product was properly described. This rating system is how buyers determine how to trust certain sellers. With so many charlatans out there, it’s important for buyers to be able to review the seller’s reviews from their other customers.
If you have low feedback right now, a great thing to do is build your feedback as a buyer. Having both buyer and seller feedback shows that you are a trustworthy person. Buy inexpensive items on eBay to gain experience. Read the reviews and feedback of the sellers you want to buy from. As a buyer, see if you can trust them.
The feedback reviews give buyers a good indication of whether or not a buyer they should do business with someone. When starting to learn how to sell on eBay you have to make sure that you are pleasing your customers. This could mean that sometimes you will have to go above and beyond for your customers. While this may seem to be a little time consuming it is vital to your success. Selling on eBay will gradually get easier as time moves on. As you gain more and more experience and get more feedback from satisfied customers you will be able to relax a little.
Although you can relax a little, you’ll still find you need to keep learning how to sell on eBay because policy changes are happening all the time. Don’t get confused with these changes, just be prepared for them and try to stay on top of them. It’s all part of being in business for yourself.
Create A High Converting Website
Posted by: | CommentsA visitor to your website only becomes valuable when they take the action you want them too. It’s easy to spend too much time driving traffic to your site and not enough time on converting that traffic. Discover 7 steps to improved conversion.
1. High Impact Headlines Grab Attention. 12 months ago only 40% of visitors to my website stayed for more than 10 seconds. 60% only visited one page before leaving. And this is for a focused niche business; self storage. Now nearly 70% stay for 10 seconds or more. How did I get my visitors to become more engaged with the site? I gave them reasons to stay. Your headline is the gateway to your website. If it grabs attention visitors will stay. If it doesn’t they’ll leave. It’s as simple as that. Follow up a strong headline with the benefits your website gives to visitors.
2. Are You Attracting Visitors Who Will Take Action? Many people use the internet to help them to find out more about a product or service before they take action. As they learn their searches become more specific. People considering self storage often start by searching for “storage”. Soon they may look for “furniture storage” before finally searching for “furniture storage in Glasgow”. The visitor who searched for “furniture storage in Glasgow” is ready to take action. Those that searched for “storage” are probably not ready to act. High converting websites use these “ready to take action” keywords in their headlines and copy.
3. Use Multiple Landing Pages. A friend once described internet surfers as over-active, excited kids, full of caffeine. You have to grab their attention or they’re gone, looking for the next website. So they must land on the most relevant page for their keyword search. Too many websites make the mistake of sending everyone to the same page, usually the home page. It might work for some, but most won’t bother looking for the link to the right page. They’ll leave. And you’ve missed your chance. Suppose someone wants an a black 16GB iPhone and they land on a mobile phone home page and then have to click on Apple iPhones, before finally clicking on 16GB iPhone. With each click you risk losing them. If they’ve searched for “black 16GB iPhone” and land on that page, you greatly increase your chance of getting the sale. So, use multiple landing pages for your most important keywords. And focus your SEO efforts on these pages.
4. What’s In It For Me? Most visitors want a response to their search. They’re interested in themselves, not you. Make sure you talk about your product or service from their perspective. How will they benefit? Don’t waffle about your company or yourself. Get straight to the point and show how visitor friendly you are.
5. Longer Copy Works. We’ve all been told to have short web pages, because visitors don’t scroll down the page. That’s just plain wrong. My conversions increased by over 30% when I gave visitors what they needed on one page. This meant they had to scroll down 3-5 pages, but the copy grabbed and held their attention. Much better that, than losing their interest with too many clicks.
6. Keep It Simple. The moment a visitor is ready to act it must be crystal clear what they need to do next. Don’t make them search for a buy button. Don’t expect them to complete a long order form. Don’t make them search for your contact details. Keep it simple and watch your conversions soar.
7. Test and Learn. No one can know for certain which headline, photograph, testimonial, guarantee etc will convert the best. The only way to know for sure is to test each version. Fortunately Google provides a free tool which does this for you. Check out their Website Optimiser tool. I always have a few tests running and I suggest you do too. The results will often surprise you and sometimes cause amazement!
How To Sell On eBay – Dealing With Problem Customers
Posted by: | CommentsAll of the eBay selling tools in the world cannot prepare a person for the confusion, anger, and frustration that will come when the first problem customer comes along. Knowing how to sell on eBay is much more then just learning how to create an auction and how to properly mail a package. People who do not take the time to learn how to deal with problem customers end up getting angry and saying things that they wish they didn’t.
You have to be able to keep a cool head no matter how the customer talks to you. To see if an eBay course is complete, see if they cover dealing with customer problems. One key thing is making sure you are professional at all times when dealing with problem customers.
Many people who just start out learning how to sell on eBay often make the mistake of thinking that if they are hassled by a problem customer, they don’t need to treat them nicely. If you deal with the problem correctly, the customer could actually appreciate you more for solving the issue and be a satisfied return customer in the long run.
In these situations you have to make sure that you don’t do anything you might regret, so that current and future customers won’t look upon you poorly. Remember that eBay buyers can check to see if you replied to feedback that was left in a positive or negative way. Others might not want to do business with you if they see that you don’t handle support calmly and professionally.
So what is someone who is just learning how to sell on eBay supposed to do when they get a bad customer? Try to repair the situation. If there is no indication that this is a cycle for this buyer then see if there is something that you can do to resolve the situation. You want to put the fire out without making too much of a big deal out of it. Of course, there are always going to be those situations where things simply cannot be fixed. Keep in mind that this is not the norm, and after thousands of eBay transactions, we’ve had hardly any problems, it’s just good to be prepared.
